Online and phone therapy
Online counselling has made it possible for more people to have the support they need. Virtual sessions can be amazingly effective and come with many benefits.
Itโs convenient. Saving time by avoiding traffic, the hassle of finding parking, and overall, just staying comfortable in your environment.
Feeling at ease. By doing things such as having a cup of tea, or coffee during your session, sitting on your bed, wearing your comfy clothes, or having a blanket on your lap to stay warm.
Increased flexibility. Itโs easy to schedule an appointment whenever you have some downtime whether it be after work or on the weekends.
Increased options for therapists. Choosing the therapist thatโs the best fit for you instead of having to choose someone because they are the closest to you geographically.
More consistent therapy. Online therapy presents a solution to hurdles like bad weather, not feeling optimal to leave your house, and allows you to continue care on a more consistent basis regardless of circumstances.
Itโs just as effective as traditional therapy, but without the hassle.
Online counselling will be conducted through the Janeapp platform, the same platform where you book your appointments. In your confirmation email, there will be a button to join the video call. For phone appointments, we will call you at the phone number provided by you at your chosen appointment time.
Unfortunately, as with everything, there are some downsides to virtual counselling that we may overlook. For example, not having someone present with you in the room to feel supported during a crisis moment, or not being able to find complete privacy in your home. In the end, whichever format of counselling you choose whether in-person, or virtual, just see how it feels for you, and if it fits into your situation.
