Trauma

Aside from PTSD there are other forms of trauma that take place in one’s life. Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms your ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes your sense of self and their ability to feel a full range of emotions or experiences.

How does counselling help with trauma?

We draw on trauma-informed practice to help you regain a sense of control, gain skills to manage the physical and psychological symptoms of trauma while finding peace of mind and hope for your future. Healing from trauma can be different for each individual, but counselling can help by normalizing human responses to traumatic events and make sense of your reactions.
